Developing the world’s lightest industrial safety spectacles was no easy task, but with the help of state-of-the-art manufacturing methods, UVEX engineers succeeded in achieving an amazing feat: a lightweight spectacle weighting just 18 grams.

XST (x-stream technology) is the process developed by uvex that allows for the smooth transition of materials from one to another in the manufacturing process. XST gives the side-arms of the uvex super-g a ‘sticky’ feel which ‘grips’ the side of the head holding the spectacle in place. Patent pending.

Flexibility is important for eye protection with the demands of today’s workplace environments. But application flexibility is not the only feature of the uvex super-g that is flexible; the innovative side-arm concept / design holds the spectacle securely on the head, allowing for simple adjustment to find the optimum positioning of the lens, thanks to XST.
